Use case · Technology continuity

Automated log scans.
A clearer picture of system health.

Connect scattered technical signals, find the patterns that matter, and put an evidence-backed action plan in the right hands.

An operational example

The symptom was buffering.
The evidence told a bigger story.

A multi-site organization needed to understand intermittent application delays. Its applications, services, and databases shared dependencies, while each location had a different traffic pattern.

We correlated logs across locations, devices, transaction types, and incident windows. That separated database contention from recurring image-operation delays and identified where more live telemetry was needed.

The output was a prioritized investigation and action plan, with evidence for each finding and clear next decisions.

Report scope also included selected service, portal, and database slow-query logs. Coverage varied by location; one location had service logs without direct mobile coverage. No customer names, identifiers, or raw logs are shown.

A connected workflow

Automate the support work.
Keep people in control.

Collect, scan, and correlate. Review, route, and verify. Every finding should lead to a traceable decision and feedback for the next check.

  • Retrieve: collect approved log sources and check date coverage.
  • Scan: measure latency, failures, retries, and unusual request patterns.
  • Analyze: correlate incident windows and separate observations from hypotheses.
  • Review & route: a person validates the evidence and assigns the action plan.
  • Verify: compare fresh signals after an approved change and update the baseline.

The prior review produced recommendations. Production fixes and post-change verification were not performed in that review. Automated collection and continuous checks require connected, approved sources.

Recorded task timings

What we can measure
from the prior review.

Two recorded follow-up tasks show how quickly an existing body of evidence can become a focused comparison and a decision-ready report.

Cross-site analysis

~13 minutes

Recorded task duration: 13 minutes, 2 seconds. Compared incident windows, challenged the shared-server hypothesis, and prioritized missing evidence.

Report preparation

~6 minutes

Recorded task duration: 5 minutes, 30 seconds. Prepared an eight-page report with findings, limitations, and a prioritized action plan.

These are elapsed times for two follow-up tasks after earlier analysis and local file availability. They are not full engagement timings. Retrieval time, human-team effort, actual costs, and production remediation were not measured.

Default assumptions: 6 analyst-hours versus 45 analyst-minutes, $45/hour loaded labor cost, and a $5 AI/tool allowance per review. Assisted time is conservatively budgeted as analyst time, including automation runtime and review. Setup, infrastructure, ongoing subscriptions, production remediation, and outage-loss avoidance are excluded. Teams can work in parallel, so analyst effort is not calendar turnaround time. Released capacity is not automatically a cash saving.

A health view that supports decisions

Track the signal.
Escalate with context.

Logs explain application behavior. Live host and database metrics add the context needed to test causes and verify recovery.

Application health

Response-time percentiles, slow-request rates, failures, retries, affected devices, and request volume. Separate intentional waits from unexpected delays.

Shared dependencies

Database waits, long-running queries, concurrent reports, worker queues, and connection pools. Correlate events across services and locations.

Operational continuity

Coverage gaps, connectivity, CPU, memory, and disk behavior. Assign an owner, retain the evidence, and verify after approved changes.

Some indicators require live instrumentation beyond log files. Thresholds and collection frequency should follow the workload baseline.
